Better cover on death, and partner pensions
If you die while you're still employed and paying into the scheme, we'll pay a death grant to those you leave behind. The death grant is three years' pay in the new-look LGPS.
To say who you would like the money paying to, you can make a death grant nomination.
If you haven't made your nomination yet, ask us for a form, or download one from Here
Partner pensions
We automatically pay pensions for a surviving husband, wife or civil partner on your death. But if you and your cohabiting partner aren't married or haven't entered into a civil partnership you must complete a nomination to make them eligible for a pension on your death.

Pensions for children
If you leave any eligible children on your death they will get a pension too. Eligible children are usually under age 17, or under age 23 and in full-time education or training. Older disabled children may get pensions too.
