High Court rules RPI to CPI switch rules was lawful
Trade unions recently challenged the government's decision to change the measure used to determine how public sector pensions are increased. This year's increase had been based on the Consumer Price Index but the Retail Price Index had been used previously.
The High Court has now ruled that the change was lawful and the government had power to make this change, but gave the unions the chance to appeal their decision if they wished to do so.
