When can you retire?
Normal retirement age for everyone in the new-look scheme is age 65.
But you can carry on working and paying into the scheme after age 65 if you want to and your employer agrees. If you do, you'll get more pension for any period you work after age 65. The latest your pension can be paid is the day before your 75th birthday.
Earlier retirement from age 55*
You may be able to retire or take flexible retirement in the new-look scheme from age 55. But to retire before age 60 you will need your employer's agreement.
If you retire before age 65 your benefits may be reduced.
