Paying Extra
Additional Voluntary Contributions (AVC's)

You can pay extra contributions into the WYPF AVC Plan. There are two plans arranged through Prudential or Scottish Widows.
  • You can choose to pay a set percentage of your salary (up to a maximum of 50% of your pay), or a set amount.

  • AVCs are flexible - you can easily change your payments, take a break, or stop paying at any time.

  • You build up a personal fund. The size of this fund will depend on how much you've paid in, and how well investments have performed.

  • Each AVC provider offers a number of different investment choices.

  • When your scheme benefits are paid you can choose to buy extra pension with your Fund or take some (or possibly all) of your AVCs as a lump sum. The amount you can take as a lump sum is subject to certain limits.

  • Your employer will deduct these extra contributions from your salary and pay them over to the AVC Provider. These will attract tax relief if you pay tax.

  • You can choose to buy extra life cover with your AVCs through Prudential. A Life Cover application pack can be obtained by contacting Prudential.
