About 300 WYPF members attended our first annual meeting on 1st November 2001. We held the meeting at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds. Councillor Bob Sowman – a member of Bradford Council and chair of both WYPF’s Investment Advisory Panel and the West Yorkshire Pensions and Debt Management Joint Advisory Group – chaired the meeting.

The majority of delegates were pensioners but some current and deferred members were also there. Topics covered by speakers at the meeting included: the performance of WYPF; WYPF’s AVC plan with new provider Scottish Widows; and SeniorCare, an injury benefit scheme for pensioners which was launched to WYPF Pensioners in November 2001.
