We're replacing My Pension with an all-new online pension account. We think you'll find it faster and much easier to use, and it's more secure than ever.

We're currently inviting pensioner members, but anyone can register and use the service. We'll be adding an estimate calculator for LGPS members early in 2026 along with new features and tools throughout the coming year.

If you're an active member of the Firefighters' Pension Scheme, for the time being you should continue to use My Pension when you need to access your Annual Benefit Statement.

Please make sure you download a copy of your statements before My Pension is switched off later into 2026.

New online pension account

Our all-new online pension account is now available! It helps you manage your pensions seamlessly and securely.

To register, we'll guide you through a quick and simple identity check using some photo ID (like a passport or driving licence) and your device's camera. It's a one-time check to keep your account safe and secure, so please have your photo ID ready before you begin.

To set up your account you'll need to know

your National Insurance Number and date of birth, and
have access to your email account and mobile phone (if you have one)

We take data security very seriously. Unfortunately criminals and bad actors try to access online platforms with stolen IDs and personal information. To ensure that it's really you who is registering for your account, we've partnered with a specialist identity provider to secure your account from the very first moment.

What if I don't have any photo ID?

Unfortunately you won't be able to register online. Instead you'll need to call our Contact Centre on 01274 434999. They will be able to verify your identity in a different way, and then send you a special link to complete the registration process.

I don't have a device with a camera, what do I do?

No problem! Simply ask a friend or family member who has a mobile phone or tablet to sit with you while you register. You'll be able to complete your ID verification on their device, and then continue the process on your own computer once you've been verified.

You can also upload copies of documents if you have them, but we don't recommend doing it this way.

Where is the picture of my ID and selfie stored?

We keep your photo and ID pictures on a secure cloud server managed by our ID verification partner, GBG. After 30 days the images are deleted and only metadata about the verification process is kept.
